Technical Abstract: This lecture will cover the topic of Bio-oils and their applications in eco-friendly materials. First, we will discuss what a 'Bio-oil' is, where they come from, and how they can be beneficial to the environment. Then we will explore some of the work that researchers have done on bio-oils from the Bio-Oils Research Unit at NCAUR in Peoria, IL. This will include the deployment of biodiesel, bioplastics, lubricants, and more from these oils. The impact of bio-oils on farmers and the agricultural industry will also be discussed throughout.
