Introduction to the XXV International Grassland Congress virtual special section. Grassland Research. 3(2):97-99. https://doi.org/10.1002/glr2.12090. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1002/glr2.12090 Interpretive Summary: Grasslands are essential to ruminant livestock, biodiversity, and a wide range of ecosystem services. The XXV International Grassland Congress brought together scientists, professionals, policy makers, and citizens to share knowledge for making well-educated decisions now and into the future. Our collective health depends on a healthy environment, and it was the aim of this congress that scientific inquiry would translate into better human, livestock, ecological, and soil health conditions well into the future. An ARS scientist in Raleigh North Carolina collaborated with colleagues from the University of Kentucky and Corteva Agrisciences to introduce readers of the journal, Grassland Research, to a summary of the 25th International Grassland Congress held in Covington Kentucky in May 2023. This description included summary statements for the three plenary speeches, five keynote addresses to the main themes of the congress, and for a selected number of full-length presentations that appeared in this virtual special section of the journal. This editorial will guide readers to relevant information about key research papers, as well as how to participate in the 100th anniversary of the International Grassland Congress.
