Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Monitoring pecan weevil emergence with traps or a knock-down spray is important to know when to apply a treatment. Consistent pecan weevil management can be achieved when efficacious products are applied to the pecan canopy to protect the nuts. When the pecan nuts are protected, the pecan weevil’s mode of entry into the canopy whether via crawling or flying is irrelevant.
