Interpretive Summary: Dimensionless parameters were developed using nozzle pressure, discharge, spacing and wind speed of a stationary sprinkler system. The parameters were related to the Christiansen Coefficient of Uniformity through a non-linear curve fitting procedure. Comparisons between five different types of nozzles were then made.

Technical Abstract: The objective of the research was to develop a mathematical function using dimensionless parameters that would relate operating conditions for a given nozzle type to the Christiansen Coefficient of Uniformity (CU). The relationships could then be used to compare different nozzle types for the same operating conditions, or to design or evaluate stationary sprinkler systems.
