Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: A user friendly interface for crop phenology models was developed in Windows 3.1 environment. Soybean is taken as an example crop in the model. The model includes data submodel and application submodels. Data submodel processes weather data and other input parameters, produces intermediate results for other submodels. Application submodels simulate the crop phenological events. The water stress and irrigation effects are considered. The submodels can share their data and a project file controls them. The on-line help is available. The user can display and print the data and results with the handy interface. The Model also generates data files to hold project information and results for further use. The interface was written in C++ and runs on PC above 286 with a VGA display and 4 RAM.
