Technical Abstract: Sandusky is a late maturity group II soybean variety released by the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center-Ohio State University (OARDC-OSU) in 1993 because of its higher yield potential than currently grown varieties of similar maturity. It has purple flowers, grey pubescence, tan pods and dull yellow seeds with buff hila. Sandusky has the Rps1-K gene for resistance to phytophthora root rot. Breeder seed of Sandusky will be maintained by OARDC-OSU with cooperation of Ohio Foundation Seeds, Inc. Protection for Sandusky under the Plant Variety Protection Act is pending.
