The choice of experimental design used to grow the nursery was made by the cooperator for each location and average performance values were submitted for inclusion in this report. Data reported from the various locations included yield, test weight, plant height, lodging, heading date, ripe date, growth habit, 1000 kernel weight and reaction to several diseases. The Combined Central and Southern Uniform Winter Oat Yield Nursery was grown at 19 stations in 11 states in 1993-94. There were 17 entries including 6 that were new in 1992-93. The average yield over lines and stations was 87.5 bu/A with line averages ranging from 73.9 to 96.2 bu/A. TX89D7213 was the top yielding line, with four other lines yielding at levels that were statistically different from this line, when averaged over all locations. The highest yielding location was Kinston, North Carolina, where the average for all entries was 182.2 bu/A. The best entry for test weight, when averaged over all locations, was TX89D7198 at 34.5 lb/bu; nine other lines had average test weights that were statistically lower than this line.
