Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The Maize Genome Database (MaizeDB), curated at the USDA-ARS Plant Genetics Research Unit, Columbia, MO, is an Internet-accessible repository of information on the genetics and biology of maize. It currently includes over 100,000 records in categories such as germplasm stocks, traits, phenotypes, loci, genetic maps, molecular probes, gene products, metabolic pathways, bibliographic references, and addresses of maize researchers. A recent addition is the documentation of quantitative trait loci. Examples of search scenarios and options for accessing MaizeDB will be presented.
