We have constructed a LOD 5.0, high-density map for maize consisting of more than 1000 loci. The map was constructed using an Immortalized F2 (CO159 x Tx303) of 54 individuals with MAPMAKER for UNIX. The emphasis for loci for rexpansion of the map over previous versions was for mapping loci for sequenced cDNAs from maize and other cereal crop species. The map is organized into bins delineated by the UMC Maize Core Marker Set. DNA sequences were obtained for clones in the core marker set. GenBank registration and sequence similarity information will be presented. The mapping and sequence information is available electronically through the Maize Genome Database, http://teosinte.agron.missouri.edu. |
