Downstream of MDV UL32h, another ORF was identified as a homolog of HSV-1 UL31. Northern blot analysis revealed that MDV UL32h was co-transcribed with UL31h. The primary translation product of UL32h is predicted to be comprised of 641 amino acids with a calculated molecular weight of 71.5 kDa, as compared with the apparent molecular weight of 82.2 kDa in immunoprecipitation studies of MDV-infected cells using antiserum against trpE fusion protein. Hydrophobicity analysis of gp82 identified multiple domains that might interact with or span the membrane several times. The protein belongs to a class of membrane glycoprotein. |
