Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The potato of commerce has many wild and cultivated related species which are useful for basic research and varietal breeding. To this end, the US potato genebank, NRSP-6, at Sturgeon Bay, WI, collects, preserves, classifies, evaluates, and distributes tuber-bearing Solanum germplasm to potato scientists worldwide. This publication lists available materials for over 4,300 seed populations encompassing over 150 taxa, and numerous USA and foreign tuberosum varieties, breeding and genetic stocks. Brief background information on the genebank, instructions for ordering stocks, and basic identification data (taxonomy and source) is given. Types of additional detailed data, and how they may be accessed, are discussed.
