The assessment included both transport to surface water and transport to subsurface water (root zone pesticide transport). Field obtained data was compared to model predicted data. Results indicate that GLEAMS under predicted sediment pesticide concentration on nearly every runoff event while PRZM greatly over predicted sediment pesticide concentration soon after application but then under predicted sediment pesticide concentration as time elapsed past metribuzin application. GLEAMS more accurately predicted sediment pesticide concentration and PRZM more accurately predicted the subplow-layer soil pesticide concentration. However, little difference in predicted versus field accuracy was detected between models on runoff water concentration or lysimeter percolate concentration using the root mean square error method. |
