Interpretive Summary: Baitfish farmers sell Golden shiners of different sizes depending upon market demand. To grade their fish into these sizes they use bar graders with different distances between the bars. No tables are available to the farmers that state which size graders are needed to obtain particular sizes of fish. This research developed mathematical equations that express the relation between sizes of graders available to the farmer and the average length or weight of fish obtained when pairs of these graders are used. Graphs and tables that the farmer can use to pick appropriate size graders to obtain a desired average length or weight golden shiner are presented in the manuscript.

Technical Abstract: Regression equations, graphs, and tables that express the relation between bar grader spacing and total lengths and weights were determined for golden shiners Notemigonus chrysoleucas that were 6 to 7 months old. Examples of how to use the graphs are provided.
