Technical Abstract: This chapter is a portion of a manual whose purpose is to provide a uniform approach to the diagnosis of important animal diseases for veterinary use in laboratories all over the world. Fowl cholera is an important disease in domestic and wild birds throughout the world. The chapter describes standard methods for diagnosis of fowl cholera based upon clinical signs in ndiseased animals and biochemical and serological tests to identify and classify Pasteurella multocida, the causative agent.
