Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The Uniform Regional Hard Red Spring Wheat Performance Nursery had 34 entries from 6 public wheat breeding programs, 4 USA and 2 Canadian, and 3 private companies in 1997. It was grown at 20 locations and data were returned from 20 locations. Scab was only present at three locations in 1997. MN93413 and SB#0050 were the highest yielding entries over locations. MN93413 is a cross with Asian scab resistance, and SBE0050 is the highest yielding entry for 3 years in the nursery. The best scab resistance in these elite lines was exhibited by SD3219, MN93413, and ND694. About 62 research and administrative personnel received the report.
