Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Under laboratory conditions, released whitefly adults moved from a release chamber through plastic tubes to a chamber illuminated with white fluorescent light that was 46 cm distant from the whitefly release point. Numbers of adults that moved to the light source increased when light intensity was increased to 19 lux or higher. Adult movement was minimal when light intensity was 2 lux or the chamber was dark.
