Pond preparation, types of fertilizers that can be used, fertilization schedules for organic and inorganic forms, timing of fertilization for stocking fry, size of fry for some of the commonly cultured fish species, major large zooplankton groups that are found in aquaculture ponds, and pond conditions not conducive for fertilizing ponds are discussed. A section on plankton bloom seeding and planting a cover crop for pond fertilization concludes the publication.
