Interpretive Summary: The results of a survey of the conditions and effects of phylloxera infestation on 26 Oregon vineyards are presented. As of publication, there were 26 confirmed problem vineyards with phylloxera that affected about 60 acres of wine grapes directly with another estimated 540 in direct danger of succumbing to the insect. There are another 12 vineyards that are suspect but the insect has not been found. Details of damage and appearance of plants are described and descriptions of the 18 stages of grape phylloxera are given. An update on the effects of fertilizers, irrigation and other practices for healthier plant are given.
