     Michael D. Schmidt is a farmer at Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center in Booneville, Arkansas. He received a high school diploma from Booneville high in 2000 as well as some college courses in business management at Everett University in 2014. Michael worked with the livestock crew during a student work program from 1999-2001. He started with ARS in 2016 working for Phillip R. Owens, Ph.D. Research Leader conducting research on soils mapping, switch grass plots, GPS tractor guided assistance, fertilizer placement of corn and edamame yields studies, renovation of a pine tree plantation, restructuring east end project, new fencing, working with safety coordinator and as well the facility maintenance on the Research Center.
