Native American Observance: November 2019

Mallory Fenn from the Southeast Area of the Florida Public Archaeology Network visited our lab on October 25th and presented "Who Made the Everglades". It explored the geological cultural history of the Everglades which covered the way the Native Americans residing in Florida at different times, how they lived and the items they used for survival. It was an invigorating scientific presentation about the archaeology findings which supported documentation of the different tribes existence. 

The IPRL also presented an option learning poster presentation of any tribe of their choosing and posted them in the main building hallway for staff members to study during the month of November. Some of the tribes presented were the Zuni, Mohawk, Seminoles, Tequesta, and information about the "First Thanksgiving". Pictures shown below.
