Client/stakeholder groups include federal, state and local animal and public health agencies; national and international vector abatement organizations; public and private recreational enterprises; manufacturers and end users of insect repellents and related personal care products, insect traps, and non-pesticidal insect control technology; pest control and extension organizations; homeowners; and pet/companion animal owners. Formal organizations with which the Mosquito & Fly Unit works include:

The Brazilian Ministry of Health and Mosquito and Fly Research Unit will jointly conduct pilot tests for the control of dengue vectors in Brazil based on ARS-developed mosquito biological control technology.

Unit scientists work with the World Health Organization, Consumers Union, and Unilever Research on development of arthropod attractants, attractant inhibitors, repellents, and repellent/skin care products. Unit scientists provide advice and guidance to the USDA APHIS Office of Pesticide Management Policy and the USEPA regarding pesticides benefits analyses and evaluation of proposed mitigation measures for re-registration of aerial mosquito adulticides.
