Subsurface flow and erosion will be quantified using lateral flow collection pans placed against two exposed faces of the LTC stream bank. Pans were installed at five depths(see figure) and two locations spaced 2.5 m apart.

Pans were pressed firmly into grooves cut into the bank face. To prevent water from outside the pans entering into them, a neoprene liner material was used to form a curtain by gluing the top edge to the pan above and extending it into the pan below. Tubing is used to route water collected by the pans to sealed collection vessels.
