Little Topashaw Creek - Shifts in bed sediment size
headline bar
The LWD structures were placed along the base flow channel margins in order to address processes associated with high flows. The structures, willow plantings and volunteer vegetation induced deposition at bank toes, but slight amounts of scour were observed along the channel centerline. Analysis of surficial bed sediment samples collected in 1999 prior to debris structure addition and again in 2003 showed little change in the channel itself, but a significant fining along sides of the base flow channel.
