Research Interests
Dr. Lizotte utilizes a variety of research techniques at various scales from laboratory, mesocosm, to large-scale field studies to elucidate how agricultural conservation practices can protect and enhance aquatic resources.
- Assessment of integrated agricultural best management practices (BMPs) that improve water quality and ecological resources as featured in the online European Commission Environment, News Alert Service, Science for Environment Policy
- Modified and constructed wetlands as agricultural conservation practices to improve water quality as featured in USDA AgResearch Magazine
- Ecological effects of hydrologic manipulations of agricultural watersheds including drawdowns in Roundaway Lake, MS.
- Stream and lake restoration to improve water quality and ecosystem habitat as featured in USDA AgResearch Magazine
- Aquatic toxicology of agricultural pollutants on invertebrates and algae that address issues of complex mixtures including interactions of nutrients, pesticides and suspended sediments
