Surface Changes by Rainfall and Overland Flow

Effect of four 45mm rainstorms of decreasing intensity and two 35min inflow regimes on soil surface changes and rill development for a Grenada silt loam of 8% slope steepness. Studies include: Rill development by rainfall and surface flow; roughness changes by rainfall; soil loss in relation to soil type, rainfall regime, and slope steepness; subsurface soil water pressures on soil detachment and rilling; surface sealing by rainfall; infiltration into sealing soils; and surface seal breakdown by overland flow.
