Our mission is to improve cultural and management practices for the production of small fruits, ornamental plants, vegetables and other crops grown in the Gulf Coast region.

All USDA-ARS personnel belong to the Southern Horticultural Research Unit (SHRU). Within SHRU, work in the laboratories, greenhouses and research plots is divided into 2 main disciplines:
