GSOR 102501 through 102544 - 42 progeny of the cross between a tropical japonica rice cultivar Katy containing the rice blast resistance gene Pi-ta and a temperate japonica cultivar M202 (pi-ta) inoculated with the race IB49 Magnaporthe oryzae that recognizes Pi-ta.

Agronomic traits, yield and yield components, seed characteristics, yield and milling quality of 42 lines plus parents Katy and M202 were characterized in replicated field plot experiments in 2013 and 2014.   Results demonstrated that a majority of the rice lines were highly similar to M202 despite a range of variation for each of tested traits.  The lines should be useful for breeders and researchers interested in developing new medium grain varieties with blast resistance.  Click here to download this Excel table.
