Slide 22.   Shane Phillips (Elders Chemicals) of Riverland, near and around Barmera, South Australia is a pioneer in the use of PAM with horticultural crops using unique approaches to PAM application.  In this photo, Shane shows the high quality of table grapes grown with drip irrigation using PAM.  PAM helped reduce scaling and plugging of drip lines and seemed to help retain water in the sandy soils.  Shane is investigating PAM effects on soil water retention, both in his recently initiated soil PhD program, and cooperatively with ARS in Idaho (Sojka et al) and Dr.  Dave Horne of Massey University in New Zealand.
