The National Cold Water Marine Aquaculture Center's facilities are located in Franklin, ME. Facilities in Franklin are located adjacent to the University of Maine's Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR).  Future facilities in Orono, ME will be located on the University of Maine campus.  The National Cold Water Marine Aquaculture Center (NCWMAC) is currently conducting research in Franklin.  The parr system contains 234 small 50-gallon culture tanks for rearing Atlantic salmon from fry to advanced parr stage.  All research tanks are supplied with water from recirculating filtration systems.
