I conduct research on ways to prevent protozoan diseases of humans and animals by developing sensitive detection methods, improving the delivery of existing vaccines, and discovering new vaccines based on recombinant DNA technology. I utilize cell culture and molecular techniques to study drug resistance in coccidian parasites, particularly avian Eimeria, the causative agents of coccidiosis in poultry.
