The New England Plant, Soil, and Water Laboratory developed a ???Potato Systems Planner CD??? in 2006 to aid growers in selecting crop rotations and making management decisions based on first-hand research information. The Potato Systems Planner provides general and detailed information on the impacts of fifteen crop rotations on diseases, economics, yield, soil microorganisms, and nitrogen cycling. An Economics Calculator is provided to aid growers in estimating potential profitability and risk associated with each crop rotation. A Disease Database is also provided to assist growers in identifying and managing many diseases found on potato. For more information or a copy of the Planner, contact bob.larkin@ars.usda.gov
