National Cold Water Marine Aquaculture Center's (NCWMAC) Franklin location is located adjacent to the University of Maine's Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR) and shares infrastructure required for complex aquaculture research. A new 3-phase power line has been installed, a new seawater pump house and water storage tanks have been constructed, and both research facilities are also supplied by groundwater from freshwater, brackish water, and saltwater wells.
