Dr. Partson Mubvumba joined the Crop Production Systems Research Unit as a Research Soil Scientist in May 2020. Dr. Mubvumba holds a BS in Agriculture from University of Zimbabwe, an MS in Plant, Soil & Environmental Science from West Texas A&M University-Canyon and received a Ph.D. in Environmental Soil Science from Texas A&M University – College Station in 2018.
His research work has revolved around environmental soil science focusing on evaluation and management of soil ecosystems and soil water dynamics under different cropping systems. Prior to joining CPSRU, Dr. Mubvumba was a postdoctoral research associate with Texas A&M AgriLife Research at Vernon, TX and developed a strong interest in exploring soil biogeochemistry of soil ecosystems services and functions for developing sustainable agricultural practices.
Dr. Mubvumba’s research in CPSRU will focus on assessment and improvement of water quality and soil health under Modern Cropping Systems in the Mid-Southern United States.
