Research Project: Relationships Between Perceived and Objective Measures of Health Behavior

Location: Office of The Area Director

Project Number: 6001-10700-001-002-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 15, 2022
End Date: Sep 14, 2027

Objective:
To determine if relationships between perceived (self-rated) and objective measures of health behavior exist, particularly those related to nutrition and food, and to explore factors that individuals think about when asked to rate aspects of their health.

Approach:
Researchers will design and implement survey studies to concurrently measure perceived (self-rated) and objective measures of health behavior, including but not limited to dietary intake, to determine if relationships exist, and if so, to quantify their strength. Additionally, accurate assessment of perceived health behaviors will be explored.
