Interpretive Summary: The National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR) conducts scientific research from the bench top to industrial-sized or farm-sized scale-up that has global implications. NCAUR, however, works diligently to keep its foundation firm by supporting local community science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by performing outreach activities that focus on local students from kindergarten to college. These outreach activities vary from tours to science demonstrations to science competition judging to job shadowing to online forum participation to STEM camps, allowing NCAUR to have hosted well over 2100 students in the past 18 months. NCAUR uses diverse approaches in scientific research and STEM outreach to connect to its communities.
