Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Leadership by definition is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. A leader is one with a servant heart, who is willing to give of themselves but also inspires others to do the same. A leader is also capable in directing others around a common cause or initiative. But, what makes a leader? This presentation seeks to discuss the qualities of a leader with other panelists within the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). Specifically, the discussion will include topics about what are the most important skills for leaders to gain, what organizational tools are vital for a leader, and more specifically leadership within ASABE including how to get started as a leader within ASABE, leadership roles panelists have attained, and what they have learned from the leadership roles they have fulfilled.
