The AgroEcosystem Performance Assessment Tool is a computer program used to evaluate the agronomic and environmental performance of management practices in long-term agroecosystem experiments.  The program employs a simple scoring method to quantify the performance of management practices using indicators grouped within agroecosystem functions.

Crested Wheatgrass benefits from native species in Grand River Grasslands

Describes research results for planting native warm season grasses into crested wheatgrass (Agropyran cristatum) looking from a livestock nutrient availability and use point of view. Native warm season grasses such as Big Bluestem, Little Bluestem and Blue Gramma showed greater or comparative nutrition to the crested wheatgrass we propose to replace. These warm season grasses are more digestible and contain more nutrients of value for livestock than crested wheatgrass harvested in the late summer. The data presented here suggest these grasses should be used to rehabilitate grasslands invaded by crested wheatgrass.
