Slide 15.   Coal mining is a major enterprise in the Capricorn district.  Large scale land excavation processes that leave vast amounts of soil, subsoil and tailing materials exposed can pose erosion and water contamination risks.  Work has been conducted by Steve Raine and Rob Loch at the University of Southern Queensland to determine possible roles and application technologies for PAM to combat these problems.
