This coming Friday, November 8^th, the MDMSEA Technical Steering Committee will meet in Starkville, Mississippi at 10 am in room 242 Dorman Hall on the Mississippi State University campus. Most noted subject matter for the meeting includes reports on progress in data sharing/availability, modeling, and project coordination by Mr. Frank Gwin, Jr. Additional subject matter discussions are to include project costs associated with the operations at Deep Hollow, and preparations for the 3^rd annual MDMSEA Advisory Board meeting.

The 3^rd annual MDMSEA Advisory Board meeting will be held on Friday, December 6^th at 10 a.m. in the B.F. Smith Auditorium at Stoneville, Mississippi. This meeting is open to everyone and all interested people are urged to attend. The objectives of this meeting are to: (1) report project milestones and accomplishments, (2) hear a project report card/critique from a review committee consisting of Mr. Philip Barbour, Mr. Lawrence Carter, Mr. Gail Martin, Mr. Don Linn, Jr., and Dr. John Huey, and (3) most importantly, offer the opportunity for project comments by the audience. This year we are most pleased and honored to have Dr. Dale Bucks, of the USDA-Agricultural Research Service, National Program Staff (water quality), Washington D.C., to give the keynote address entitled "USDA Water Quality Program and Current Issues".

With assistance and cooperation from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks, all lakes have been renovated and the first phase of restocking is completed. Deep Hollow received 13,000 bluegill and redear fingerling along with 1,000 channel catfish. Beasley was stocked with 39,000 bluegill and redear fingerling and 3,000 channel catfish. In Thighman, 16,250 bluegill and redear fingerling and 1,250 channel catfish were released. The final phase of restocking will be completed in late April or early May with the addition of largemouth bass fingerlings. The Technical Steering Committee would like to acknowledge and express our appreciation to Gary Lucas, Dwayne Shaw and all the other personnel from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks for their significant contributions in making this portion of the MSEA Project a success.
