Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research is to investigate the molecular and biochemical basis underlying high level and stable storage of carotenoids in crops.
Approach:
The approaches include the use of biochemical, genetic, omics and molecular tools to analyze and examine carotenoid level and stability, carotenogenic gene expression and protein levels, the global transcriptome profiling for plants with various capacity of carotenoid accumulation.
