Technical Abstract: This invited editorial proceedings article introduces the 6 research papers published in the special topical collection for the 5th Latin American Pesticide Residue Workshop held in Santiago, Chile, May 10-13, 2015. The meeting was a great success with more than 50 talks, 140 posters, 21 vendors, and 400 participants (more than 280 from outside of Latin America). Training courses and round-table discussions also were held in conjunction with the meeting.
