"Fun Science for Families Day" was held at the Oakwood Center for 15th consecutive year. This year's theme was "Science Rules the World" and volunteers represented six organizations with 12 from Southern Regional Research Center. Fifty-one booths with "hands-on" science activities were located throughout the shopping center and open to the public from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Booths were staffed by Jefferson Parish science teachers and by local scientists, many of them giving of their own time to promote science education. In addition to the booths, Mr. Science presented four live shows during the day.
